■ 1 --- If the Christian faith is some mere panacea in this life, then given the cost of being a Christian in the pluralistic world of Corinth, Christians were the most pathetic people on earth. ■ 4 --- Jacob's adoption of Ephraim and Manasseh as his own children presaged their future role as two of the largest tribes of Israel, on a par with the tribes descended from Jacob's sons Simeon and Reuben. ▣ 야곱이 에브라임과 므낫세를 자기 자녀들로 입양한 것은 그들이 야곱의 아들들인 시므온과 르우벤을 이은 지파들과 동등하게 앞으로 이스라엘의 가장 큰 두 지파의 역할을 하리라는 전조였다 presage 특별히 뭔가 나쁜 것이 일어나리라는 경고나 표징이 되다

■ 5 --- When you are face-to-face with Jesus it's no time for procrastinating! This man provokes reaction. ▣ 예수님과 맞대하는 때는 늑장부릴 때가 아니다! 이 분은 반응을 일으킨다. procrastinate 보통 하고 싶지 않다는 이유로 해야만 하는 것을 행하길 지체하다

■ 6 --- Moses tells about the kind of sounds that echoed out when the law was promulgated, and how loud they were. What a very different situation it will be when not a single nation but the whole world is to be summoned to the tribunal of God! (Ref. 1 Cor. 15:52) ▣ 모세는 율법이 공포될 때에 울렸던 소리들과 그 소리들이 얼마나 컸던 지에 대해서 말한다. 한 나라가 아니라 온 세상이 하나님의 심판의 자리 앞에 불려 모아질 때의 상황은 매우 다르리라! promulgate …을 공표하다; <법률 등을> 공포하다
